Trysil upper secondary school was built in 1977. It is situated in a small town near the Swedish border and 230 kilometers from Oslo, our capital.

We offer the following areas of study:
– General and Business Studies
– Sports and Physical Education Studies
– Health and Social Care Studies
– Arts, Crafts and Design Studies
– Hotel, Cooking, Waiting and Food Processing Trades Studies
– Building and Construction Trade Studies

There are approximately 300 students and 45 teachers at our school. Our lessons start at 08:50 and end at 15:50. Students at this school are between 15-19 years old.

We have approximately 30 classrooms, including a language lab, a restaurant where the students practice, a very well equipped sports hall, and a science laboratory, where students practice chemistry, physics and biology. There is also a covered construction site, where carpentry students practice.  The Health and Social Care students have their own special equipped classroom, too. Finally, we have a small auditorium which is used for both lessons and special events.

In the lunch break students use the cafeteria and a library is also available.   All our classrooms have a projector and most of them have smart boards, too.   All the students have a personal computer provided by the government.

Students have around seven subjects per week. Our timetable consists of 30-35 hours.

Last year our culinary students won the gold medal in a regional competition and this year they took the silver one. From time to time our athletes at school also win medals in different international winter sports competitions.
