Our School
Our school is situated in a very picturesque small town called Limanowa in southern Poland. We are a group of two schools – primary (6-12) and lower secondary (13-16). There are about 700 students in both schools and 65 teachers. Our teachers are well-qualified, experienced professionals. We spend a lot of time preparing students to different exams and competitions in the whole country, in which they succeed. Students are also welcomed and encouraged to broaden their knowledge and skills at different extra classes, e.g. drama, Maths, IT and PE.
We put a lot of emphasis on teaching foreign languages – English, French and German together with foreign culture. Through the project we would like to make student more aware and accept differences between various nations and their customs and traditions. Young people should be conscious of their identity and of the other nations’. Our school teaches pupils tolerance towards others, although students do not have many opportunities to meet foreigners in the town. Thus, the project could be a perfect chance to see if the theory is put into practice.
Our teachers try to show students how to use computer and the Internet not only for games and entertainment. We try to improve their creative and communication skills using IT. Students gain more self–confidence and responsibility.
We are ready to take part in Comenius and meet new people from different countries.
