During the period of 9th-14th March 4 students and 3 teachers from Riga Evening Gymnasium had the possibility to visit Norway as part of an international project.
We arrived in Oslo in the evening of Sunday, where we started our trip to Trysil. We took the bus to Hamar city and there we met our Norwegian partners who helped us to get to Trysil. Despite the fact that we started our journey at 4 p.m. in Riga and arrived in Trysil at midnight we were really happy, tired, but happy. The teachers went to the hotel and met colleagues from Greece, Romania, Poland, Estonia, Spain, Norway and Turkey. The students were met by their host families and were taken to the homes they were going to stay during their visit to Norway.
On Monday (10th March) all the partners had a tour around Trysil. Our guides were host students and teachers, as the city is no really big we managed to get everywhere on foot. The ice was the only things that troubled, as we left Riga when the spring was already there. After tour we all went to the Trysil Radhus where we met mayor who told us more about the city.
After the meeting with the mayor we all went to Trysil videregående skole (upper secondary school) for the working session. We were welcomed by the headmaster of the school. After that all partners introduced with themselves.
Before the working session we all had a possibility to visit lessons in the school and to see the study process. Later the working session started. The students had to work in groups and discuss the project logos of each country, the pluses and minuses of each logo. After working session we had free time. The students together with their hosts went to have some lunch but we teachers headed to our hotel. In the evening the teachers had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant in mountains. That was the most fascinating enclosing of the first day in Trysil we could imagine.
The next day (Tuesday) we all went to the mountains and were involved in the activity Trysil is famous for-skiing. Students and teachers really enjoyed this activity. After skiing we all had an outdoor lunch. We were introduced with the traditional Sami dish, deer soup. In the afternoon we all went to school and students started to present tourist guides of each country.
In the evening the teachers had a possibility to enjoy the Norwegian folk music and dances. The experience we had in that evening gave a lot of energy for the rest of the week.
On Wednesday ( 12th March ) we had an excursion day. We went to Oslo and visited Fram museum and Viking ship museum. After, we all had free time and we could explore the city on our own. We met again in Rock café for dinner.
On Thursday (13th March) the partners gathered in the school and discussed the upcoming mobility to Spain and the proper unfolding of the project activities, as well as the final product of Norway meeting.
In the evening we had a farewell dinner and on Friday all the partners left home having all the best memories about their stay in Norway, in Trysil, about the hospitality of our Norwegian colleagues.
